Yes. All of our communication from us to you is handled through Discord. We also believe it fosters a better community experience for our league and for you.

Two steps. Fill out the driver sign-up form on our website, and apply to the league on iRacing itself: go to the Leagues tab, search "Global Racing League" (League ID: 8258), and apply. An admin should be able to process it prior to the next race.

Usually yes. Admins process new applications right up until practice opens, so same-day sign-ups are common. Make sure you've completed both the website form and the iRacing league application, then let an admin know you're hoping to attend.

No. Once an admin approves you for any GRL series, you're cleared to race in all of them.

Yes. Each series may have slightly different requirements, but at a bare minimum you will need a Safety Rating of D 3.0 or higher to join our sessions.

Nothing beyond showing up. Read the Rules & Regulations for your series so you know the format, then join the practice/qualifying session when it opens.

Classification isn't fixed. Each season, drivers are sorted into Pro or Am based on who's racing and how the field shakes out, and this gets re-evaluated over the first several weeks of the season based on qualifying and race pace.

You don't need to track who's in which class mid-race. Race everyone on track for position. Every driver you finish ahead of helps you in the standings regardless of their class.

Most seasons run a fixed number of rounds, often 12, and your lowest-scoring rounds are automatically dropped from your championship total. Your best 9 of 12 count towards your final season score. It doesn't matter which weeks you miss or have a bad result in, the standings documents handle it automatically.

F4 and MX5/GT4 run fixed setup, our Porsche Cup series runs open setup. The exception is wet-weather sessions within the MX5/GT4 series, where setup adjustments for conditions are typically allowed. F4 will be fixed setup for all weather conditions.

Each class leader will start the race after the final turn. No passing before the field crosses the start/finish line (i.e., stay in your starting column until you cross the start/finish line).

Depends on the race format and which series you are racing. In the MX5/GT4 Challenge endurance races for example, two pit stops are required even if you can save fuel. Check the raceday announcements along with your series Rules and Regulations for more information.

Generally speaking, the races are short enough where you should not take tires.

• The slower class should stay on the racing line. Moving off it to "help" a faster car usually makes the pass harder, not easier.
• Take advantage of generous pit windows. It's fine to pit a little early rather than stretching a stint to the limit.
• On the first lap especially, drive conservatively. Finishing clean is worth more than an aggressive opening lap.

Admins choose the format based on each track's characteristics: lap length, difficulty, pit lane layout, to keep things varied and fair across the calendar.

A team of volunteer stewards reviews reported incidents each week and posts their rulings, usually with a linked replay clip, so drivers can see the reasoning.

Not a formal one. There's no prize money or sponsorship on the line here. But you're welcome to ask an admin or steward for clarification on a specific ruling.

Yes. It's appreciated and factored in when stewards review the race.

GRL's stewards handle our internal rulings and points penalties. A formal protest submitted through iRacing's own system is separate. It's reviewed by iRacing directly, is outside our control, and can take a while to process.

Yes. Drivers regularly set up informal hosted practice sessions and share the join password in the community. You're welcome to start one yourself any time. You can also download an AI roster from our website to race against your league-mates in an AI race.
