Drivers

G-Rating uses an ELO-based system, similar to chess ratings and iRating in iRacing. Every driver starts at 1500. After each round, ratings are updated based on head-to-head comparisons against every other driver in the same car class.

For each pair of drivers, the system calculates an expected outcome based on their current ratings. If a higher-rated driver beats a lower-rated one, their rating changes very little. But if a lower-rated driver beats a higher-rated one, both ratings shift significantly.

Drivers are ranked within each round by their total points across all race events (excluding qualifying). The rating change is normalized by field size so that larger grids don't cause bigger swings than smaller ones.

Ratings are computed across all series and seasons in chronological order, giving a single unified rating per driver.
